The Roam X is designed to work with any data service provider so that you are able to use whatever network that works best for you. You can use your existing provider if you already have one or you can choose another network provider just for the Roam but it's worth considering coverage for intended travel alongside the best deals and usage.
If travelling to Scotland the EE's coverage is considered as superior, whilst Vodafone is popular for travelling in Europe. The Three network generally gives the best offers and competitive deals, always check the limitations of your network provider and Data SIM, especially when travelling in Europe, like numbers of days abroad, usage and restrictions and roaming charges.
