The Milenco Aero 4 is an award winning towing mirror that also happens to be the best towing mirror in the world! The Aero 4 is manufactured using the highest quality materials available and has been cleverly designed to ensure that it out-performs towing mirrors offered by alternative manufacturers. Since it's creation in 2007, Aero 4 has been regularly updated to ensure it remains, one of the best towing mirrors on the market.
The Milenco Aero 4 towing mirror is very easy to install to the existing car door mirror and offers vibration free viewing of the caravan and beyond, and with extensive testing up to speeds of up to 155mph, you might say, the Milenco Aero 4 is a 'rock steady' towing mirror. Part of the success of the Aero 4 is, its efficient aerodynamic design that utilises airflow around your vehicle to stabilise and balance the mirror head at speed. You can expect superior performance from an Aero 4 wing mirror in high winds and a reduction in the unwanted effects experienced when travelling past commercial vehicles, whilst towing your caravan.
Milenco Aero 4 Towing Mirrors incorporate perfect view adjustment of the mirror head to ensure that you get the best view possible of your trailer or caravan. The mirror glass is chrome safety glass, which offers extremely long life and will not discolour after a few years. The Milenco Aero 4 towing mirrors are available with either a Flat or Convex mirror glass.
The unique patented clamping system of the Aero 4 is easy to operate and very versatile, with thumb wheels on tilting axis that allow the clamps to adjust to the profile of the host mirror, making the Milenco Aero 4 suitable for a wide range of car, 4x4's and van wing mirrors. One more innovative feature of the Aero 4 towing mirror is the upgraded gripper system, which prevents the loose of the grip pads. Aero 4 avoids having to use rubberised straps that tend to transfer vibrations from the car to the car towing mirror. Milenco mirror screws are manufactured using high grade stainless steel and turn inside brass inserts that will never corrode.
The Milenco Aero 4 is ideal for caravanner's who like to enjoy caravan holidays in other European countries, as the Aero 4 towing mirror complies with the latest International regulations and currently exceeds legal requirements in all European Union member countries. E-marked Aero 4 also complies with the very latest pedestrian safety laws and is engineered to minimise injury in the event of an accident.
Milenco towing mirrors have won the Practical Caravan Magazine best accessory award in 2008 and 2009.
Towing Mirrors - The Law
You may not be aware but in certain circumstances towing mirrors are a legal requirement, which if ignored, could result in prosecution by the police. Despite what the law clearly states, there does appear to be confusion amongst caravanners' about what the law actually states, or if a law exists at all It's not at all uncommon to see owners of 4x4's towing a caravan without the use of towing mirrors, mistakenly believing the law does not apply.
The Law in the United Kingdom specifies you must be able to see clearly down both sides of the caravan, and see 4 meters either side of the caravan at a distance of 20 meters behind the rear of the caravan.
If your caravan or trailer is wider than the rear of the towing vehicle, you must by law fit suitable towing mirrors. In reality this means, if your caravan or trailer is wider than the rear of your tow vehicle, you must fit towing mirrors to comply with the law. These mirrors are usually 'E-marked' (mirrors with this mark meet EU requirements). If you are caught towing blind or with improper towing mirrors you can be:
- prosecuted by the police
- given 3 points on your licence
- fined up to £1,000
On tow vehicles confirming to directive 2003/97EC or sold after January 2007, the towing mirrors may project 25cms further than the widest part of the caravan. On tow vehicles pre dating this directive, the mirrors may project 20cm further than the widest part of the caravan.
Since 12th of December it is a legal requirement that you have type approved (e-marked) mirrors on both sides of the tow vehicle.
The use of towing mirrors in some European countries is mandatory and if stopped, drivers can face on-the-spot fines for towing without the use of a towing mirror.
